Are any of you guys uncomfortable talking about racial issues?

Seems like when race is brought up A LOT of people seem uncomfortable or just don't want to talk about it. Why? Race is a very big thing. Saying you don't see color is a lie.

Saying you don't see color is NOT a lie. Yeah, we know there's a difference but we don't see it as such. We ignore the color of one's skin because it shouldn't matter what race someone is. The conversation of racism truly does make some people feel uncomfortable because of what they may have been put through.

Let's be honest it's more white vs black than anything on here when I comes to racial topics eventhough there's way more that should be discussed. I personally don't like to contribute to the conversations because it's really pointless to me. Some women here just refuse to look past the dictionary definition of racism  which is annoying. I'm not going to write paragraphs of my personal experiences and my families personal experiences and what I've learned in my black history class and what I've seen with my own eyes just to get "well this dictionary says this..." Nah not worth it.

I prefer to talk about race. It's one of the most important topics and people push it under the rug because they are 'colorblind.' I think about it like this, most of you are black women, so as a black women there is a stereotype of 'sassy and loud attitudes, and multiple baby daddies.' If you go into a facy store with a large purse people will look at you as if you're going to steal something. Now reverse this, if you are a black man, you won't be considered sassy, but a thug. A loud mouthed thug. If you walk into a store you will be looked at like you are a their. You might also be said to have the stereotype as multiple baby mamas. Whites people don't experience these types of harsh steryorypes. It can effect your life daily. Where you live, work, loans, job interviews, and even dating. Being a black women trumps all the problems of being a woman in general becuase they have the harshest stereotypes against them and even if they were a man the stereotypes would be just the same. The Latin community is treated just as harsh as the blacks and it's just not right.

I've been uncomfortable talking about race issues ever since I got told I was racist because I called a girl ignorant for not listening to the advice another girl was giving her. She then threw a racist joke at me by telling me that all white ppl know how to do is clean and cook in the kitchen. I'm not trying to get pity from anyone, I'm just saying that all other races can give you shit no matter what ethnicity you are.
