Help! Baby hates his Prilosec
Ok, so my nearly 3 month old baby boy has a pretty extreme case of GERD. He was 33 weeks at birth, spent 14 days in NICU, and has been in ER 4 weeks ago for a particularly bad 10 hour stretch where he was projectile vomitting at each feeding.
He's had X-rays, and ultrasounds and all we can do is treat the GERD and wait for him to outgrow it.
We tried Zantac and it didn't help at all.
Now, he's on Prilosec but it tastes so disgusting, and it's a big dose (2.5ml) that needs to be taken twice a day.
If I give it to him directly, he spits it out. If I put it on his milk bottle, he won't drink the milk.
I've just recently started mixing the dose with a 1/2 oz of cherry punch flavored Pedialyte, with the most minor of success, but it's still a battle.
Any mommies out there have any suggestions on what I can do to help him get it down?
