Husband wants me to get an epidural

So yesterday my sister gave birth to her baby boy she's exactly 8 weeks ahead of me and she made it to 7 centermieters and gave in into an epidural she couldn't take it. I wanna go natural but husband says he can't bear the thought of me being that much pain and why is an epidural sucha bad thing he wants me to be comfortable when baby girl arrives. Do you guys think he has a point ? Ladies how did your significant others act during your painful contractions?
