Baby classes do you go?

My brother and his fiancé are taking baby classes beige my nephew is born. Me and SO are talking about babies and I feel so unprepared compared to my sister in law. She's read every book and is taking classes. Did/do you?

Sweetheart she can read all the books she wants and go to all the classes she wants but the fact of the matter is its all motherly instinct it kicks in instantly. You'll both make mistakes and you will learn from them. You will be just as good of a mother as her. I didn't read or take classes because I raised my nieces and nephew when I was 14 until I was 20.

I read some books but didn't always go by them. We went to a few classes but if I'm honest didn't use anything from them!

My husband and I did, yes. Granted, he didn't fully understand all of it, but it's better than nothing. We've got 8 days til due date and literally just last night he was like, "What am I gonna do! It's like cramming for an exam, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!"

I have a bachelors in child and family development and i was a teacher for 5 years working with infants to 2 years old soI think i "got this"...but my husband hasnt been s round infants since his sister was born..  I think there will be a learning curve for him, but im glad we get to do this together...  I dont think classes are necessary, unless you just want some supplimental info..  But each baby is different and none will fit this "cookie cutter" baby... You will learn your babies needs better than anyone..

I watched some classes on line. I'm just not worried....idk I've always known birth to be completely natural. I figured the classes would be good for my hubby more than me. Why teach myself these breathing techniques when once it starts this might work for me or "this". It's all new, I'll figure it out.

I didn't read any books and the only class I went to was a breastfeeding class. My mums a midwife so I knew a fair bit but you'll be fine! Mummy instincts are strong and you'll just know how to take care of your baby. If your baby is fed, clean and loved then your doing a great job!

I read a few books, made my husband read atleast one, and we both took classes. Still in the end I was a little overwhelmed and slightly unprepared when they placed my daughter in my arms. Yea what I read had helped slightly guide me in the first few weeks, but the key is to remember that your baby is not the books version of a baby! You will know exactly what to do that's just right for your little one, don't let a book tell you otherwise!
