Tongue tie?

I was looking in my 11 week old's mouth today and I think he has a tongue tie. (Thanks for checking for that when he wouldn't nurse, hospital 😡😡). My question is, is there any reason to have it clipped if we're not having any problems with nursing or weight gain?

I think it depends how severe it is. Some can cause issues down the track like dental, speech and when eating solids. 
Best to get a professional opinion.

My first born had a pretty substantial tongue tie. We had it snipped as he had difficulty nursing. We went out for ice cream last night, he's almost 5, and I watched him licking his ice cream cone. It made me happy because his tongue tie was so bad he wouldn't have been able to.

My third born is 16 weeks old. He has a tongue tie as well, but nurses like a champ. I didn't snip it and so far see no need. Unless he has issues with speech, I likely never will.

I had one, and according to my mom I nursed like a champ but once I got older I had really bad speech problems. Mine however needed to be cut and moved BACK. My tongue literally couldn't stay in my mouth 😂
Probably why I have a lisp to this day.
