Friday morning (38 weeks exactly) at about 1:30am I started having contractions. I figured they were going to start up and quit as they had been since 32 weeks. I blew them off and went to bed to wake up at 12:00pm to nothing. 20mins later I feel a popping sensation in my lower belly but didn't think too much about it until I felt a gush about a minute later. I got up to go use the bathroom and it was after I got done and was still leaking that I realized my water had broke. I called my husband, took a shower, and finished packing our hospital bag. Then contractions started to kick in 5mins apart and strong out of nowhere. We headed to the hospital close to here to make sure it was the real deal. After they monitored me and checked my cervix (4cm) they called the ambulance to transfer me out to the hospital with a L&D. It was about an hr ride. When I got to the hospital contractions were coming back to back. My plan was no epidural. However, I'm glad I gave in because when they checked to see how my cervix was progressing to give me the epidural they discovered baby was coming out face first instead of head first and I was 9cm dilated. They called my Dr. gave me the epidural and prepped me for a c-section. While in the o.r they gave me 3 shots to numb me which wasn't working they then gave me something even stronger and gas. After that I remember nothing and it breaks my heart because I don't remember my husband being in there, hearing her cry, or seeing her for the first time. My husband said I was completely out of it. He tried talking to me and everything and I was just staring at the ceiling. All I can remember is kinda just coming to in recovery and even then I don't remember much of seeing her she was just kind of there when it was all said and done. She was 5lbs 12oz & 19inches born at 8:00pm June 10th 2016. It wasn't the birth I had in mind or planned for but baby girl is healthy and ok so that's all that matters. 1st pic she's a few hours old. 2nd pic is today at 5 days old. I couldn't be more happy or in love!
