How long should a couple that is TTC naturally try for, until going to the doctors for help?!

Most clinics won't see you until you've been trying for a year if you're under 35. If you're over 35 that goes down to 6 months.

It took us 17 months to conceive our baby, I'm 8 weeks now. At my u/s appointment the doctor made a comment that a lot of unnecessary and expensive intervention could be prevented if couples waited 2 years instead of one to go for help. For us that was very true. On the flip side, it is SO hard to be patient, and the constant fear that something is wrong is ever present. Especially since when we're TTC it means we want a baby NOW! But pregnancy really is just the luck of the draw on when it happens. I always told myself that my body was waiting for the perfect baby and wouldn't settle for anything less, that kept me going

Try not to worry. If you have been trying since February that is only 4 cycles. Especially at your age, I don't think its a cause for concern at this point. Try not to stress about it. It can take normal healthy couples up to a year to conceive. Try to have fun with it.
