So let me start off by saying my MIL and I have never been close... matter of fact I'm 32w3d and she has texted me once (since we made out announcement to family in December) to ask how I'm feeling. Just one time. She hasnt asked how our baby is, status on thr baby, dr. Appointments, etc. She didn't come to our baby shower because "she had other plans"... nor did she or my FIL send a gift (they said they were going to get us a crib)... it's been 3 weeks since the baby shower... they still haven't purchased the crib. So we got one for free from my husbands colleague.

My husband went in for surgery this past Monday and my MIL and I were sitting together in the waiting room for hours... not once did she ask how the baby shower went... how our baby is doing... Nothing. However she did mention that she will be going to my brother in law's girlfriend Doctor appointment (we will call the GF Lisa) (she is 4 weeks behind me)... and not once had she shown interest in our baby.

She posts sonogram pictures of "Lisa's" baby... but not ours (even though I've sent her PLENTY)! But most importantly I'm afraid she won't be in our baby's life... I don't care if she doesn't ask about me... I'm past that... I'm worried about my child and her relationship with her grandma & grandpa. I've expressed this to my husband and he doesn't say much.

Now that you know the background info...

They (the in-laws) are throwing a GRANDPARENTS BABYSHOWER.... like.... for what??? They also didn't invite my parents (who will be 1st time grandparents as well).

I find it very selfish. Idk if it's for 'show' or what. To be honest, I'm offended.

Advice?

Update: I looked up Grandparent Babyshower.... and it's basically their friends coming together to congratulate them on becoming a grandparent...
