Unsafe skin care?

I'm 18 weeks today and since day one I've been using the same face wash and never second guessed it. Until recently I stumbled upon something on the Internet titles unsafe skin care and realized the face wash I had been using contains benzoyl peroxide which aparently can be harmful to the baby and cause birth defects :( there was no warning on the face wash and I'm nervous now I could have harmed my baby. Does anyone know anything about this? Please any insight is needed. Thank you ladies!
