Adoption?

Question

I'm married with one kid and I'm expecting another one. My marriage is failing fast and I know it will end before I give birth. 
I'm only 15 weeks along and I'm scared to terminate my pregnancy this far along but I'm debating giving it up for adoption. I know for a fact I would struggle so much with two kids because the dad will be completely out of the picture or he will make my life miserable and hurt the kids along the way just to get back at me. 
I don't have family I can count on because they have their own battles they're dealing with. 
I can't seem to work things out with my husband of 6 years he's an alcoholic that refuses to get help. He verbally abuses me sometimes in front of our son. 
I stayed with him for so long because I felt sorry for him or worried about his future but he shows no sympathy for me. 
My question is has anyone giving their kid up for adoption while married? 
Or you had kids you previously kept and gave one up? 
How hard was this for you?

I've never had children but my aunt has 5 kids and right in the middle, baby number three, she gave her up for adoption. Very similar situation. Mean dad. Not a happy life. Several years later she had 4 and then 5. She did an open adoption and spent most of her pregnancy getting to know the family that would be raising her little one. Baby number 5 is very much so loved by our family and we were all just recently invited to her wedding where she also announced she's pregnant with a little girl too! What I'm trying to say is, adoption can be a very good thing. You don't have to do a closed adoption where you never hear from or see your baby again, unless you want that.. I think you're doing the right thing if that's genuinely how you feel you don't need to ignore your gut feeling. I've always wanted to adopt so I have done a lot of research into good agencies and all of those things.. Bedt of luck in your decision ❤️❤️

I had a child when I was 18 with an asshole who emotionally abused and cheated on me and ridiculed me in public and to all his friends about getting pregnant (I'm sorry? I didn't get myself pregnant!) so I placed the baby for adoption because I couldn't afford an abortion. You can get an abortion up until either 13 or 23 weeks I can't remember which. So for me it was really easy because I hated the father and didn't have any other kids. It might be difficult for you but just think about how happy you would make that family to give them a child! You really have to find a family whose story catches your eye/heart. You have to feel for them or else it won't feel right. And besides your current child and your future child can stay in contact and be like sisters  I think you're doing the right thing for everyone in this situation. Good on ya

When i had my son my plan was to give him up for adoption.

I was 32 weeks when i found out i was pregnant me and his dad were so young and his dad was quite a paryer and was planning to move to london my family had fell apart my dad got diagnosed with terminal cancer and my mum had a nervous breakdown i couldnt put the stress if that on them!

I had kept to my guns through the next 6 weeks. I was told my son would be born with health conditions and not to hold hope hed survive! How could i have told my family that!

So 6 weeks later i had his this tiny 5 pound 4 ounce baby when he came out and he turned and i could see his face i instantly fell in love! I discharged myself from the hospital that night after spending hours in icu with him.

He thankfully was okay with a kidney problem and a chest deformity but he would be fine :)

Still i had deided adoption would be best!
That was until i met the parents who would be taking him. I broke down i just couldnt let them go with my baby boy every time i closed my eyes id see his wee face and i new he needed me and i needed him.

I told all my family and they told me he was coming home!

My the sane week my dad got offered proton nutin therepy and his cancer went from stage 4 to stage 2.

My dad said my son saved him! Gave him the will to carry on and fight!

Hes now 3 in a few weeks and he is the best thing i have ever done in my life!

Adoption isnt easy and i know how hard it is! I have to say to you you will manage! You will be a great mum and you wil get through it!

I had my heart set on it but when push comes to shove it couldnt do it! Im now pregnant with my second after 2 and a half years of trying. When i went to the doctors i had numerous people say to me oh i dont think you should be trying after what happened the last time there all so judgmental but yes that was my plan but i raised my boy i deserve to be a mother.

There is an adoption agency named Gladney that offers amazing support to birth mothers who need help "figuring it all out".  They are an amazing organization and you would be assigned your own advocate who will protect you and make sure that you understand all of your rights. They only do open adoptions so you'd be allowed routine visits and updates based on an agreed upon schedule with you and the adopted family. Please consider it!
