Midwife, or OB?

c

I am curious as to who is using who?

My son was born in hospital with an OB and I had a terrible time. My daughter was born in the backseat of my truck but I was under the care of a midwife. And this time I am going with a midwife again but going to time things better!

I have to go to an OB because a defect with my heart I've had since birth. I also have problems with not dilating right. Because of both things I am at a higher risk for a csection, and I always get induced after I'm in active labor.

I'm using a midwife for my prenatal care and for delivery if I'm low risk. Otherwise, they have a partnership with a hospital a mile away.

I plan to see a midwife, but they are located in a hospital and have ob's in the practice in case I need more specialized prenatal care or during delivery. Hopefully I can go all granola-hippy-earth mama though! 😉

I am going with and always will go with an obgyn. This is my fourth child and my first pregnancy I had a midwife... And omg. I had a bad experience. I kept telling her something felt wrong , I was so swollen and in so much pain, she barely took time out of her day to see me, so I got a second opinion when I was 35 weeks and I had 8+ protein in my urine! I was diagnosed with pre eclampsia n was immediately send off for induction. However, not all midwifes are bad, any doctor could have done this negligence, ever since then, I've just stuck with Ob's!
