Belly ring hole infected?

I took out my belly ring at around 20 weeks when I started to get a little bigger. Now at 25 weeks I noticed the top hole was red and a little itchy. I just had a tiny bit of puss come out of it. Had anyone had the same issue? What should I do? I've had it pierced for at least 5 years and I really don't want it to close

Salt water! Alcohol and peroxide could make it worse.

soak it in peroxide or alcohol. It sounds infected.

Puss? Is is white or does it have a green tint to it? If it's white, tinted yellow of clear it's completely normal. It's the body's way of sending cells to repair ie. Close the hole. Wash with warm water and soap.

If it's green in tint - then begin salt water soaks 3x per day.

If it's red and or swollen you can apply a chamomile warm tea bag directly to the area for 5 min 3x per day it will help with inflammation BIG TIME.

Yes I cleaned it and left it be. It's now closed but oh well
