Nails?

It's a dumb silly question. lol So I'm having my baby girl next week. I want to get my nails done. But don't know if it will be better to just get my original nails painted or can I get the acrylic? Will they get in the way when I'm tending to my baby?

My doctor advised me to cut my nails as short as possible, because you would need to put fingers in baby's mouth to help her eat and also you could occasionally harm her with nails if they are long.

I wouldn't do acrylic nails. They can trap germs. Doctor recommended to have natural nails cut short so they are easier to keep clean. Maybe do gel polish nails? They last longer than regular polish.

If you are used to acrylics get them.  I had quot long,  coffin shaped gel Polish on my real nails and I had no problems.  But that is because I had them that long for over a year before baby.

I have now cut them short to let them regrow and it's so wierd

I did acrylic just because it'll last longer...I think your nails just have to be short to tend to your baby...just like if you worked in a hospital & had to tend to a patient

Just depends what you are used to I think.  I always have my nails done so right b4 I had my son (scheduled c section) I got them done.  Made sure they were super short (u don't want to have to get them done again right away) and I round the corners because u don't want to scratch baby especially during diaper changes. I also get gel polish to prevent chipping and they last longer ;)
