My water broke Saturday night at 10 right before bed, I wasn't sure if I was just leaking pee or if my water broke but I was almost positive it was my water. I got up a few times during the night to pee and a gush of liquid would come out every time I stood up. I slept through the night and in the morning went to my husband's parents to do laundry, continued to leak, my husband said we should walk around the property to see if any contractions would start, so we walked, and nothing. I called the hospital and they told me since my water broke the night before they would like for me to come in, so we gathered all of what we needed and headed to town. They tested to see if it was my water that broke and sure enough it was, I was giving pitocin to start my contractions at about 1:00pm was dilated to 2cm and walked around the hospital halls and bounced on a birth ball and my contractions got painful as time went on, I planned to have a natural birth, but it was much to painful. I was giving fetnyal around 6:30 and received an epidural around 7:15 and was dilated to 4cm. At about 8:45 I told my nurse I felt like I needed to take a shit, she said its normal to feel pressure and I told her again, she then checked and her reaction was priceless, she said oh my that's because the baby's head is right there, called the oncall doctor and said we need help in here, my doctor got to my room around 8:50. I started to push right when she got there, I delivered my son at 8:58pm Sunday night. 8 minutes of pushing as a first time mommy. He was 5lbs7oz and 19.5in long.
