Cheating?

I feel like Ross Geller when he kept having to say "we were on a break!!" Well my ex and I are currently on a break. We are not dating. But we think we may work things out in a few weeks maybe. We don't talk often right now to give space. He said if I so much as kiss another person he will consider that cheating and never want to get back together. What do you think?

He's already told you what counts as cheating to him. Now you're looking for someone to say he's wrong, but he's not wrong, because cheating doesn't have a universal definition. It doesn't matter what a bunch of people on the internet say, cheating is defined by the people in the relationship. For some, porn is cheating, for some kissing is cheating, for some, it's only cheating if it's kept a secret. What is your definition of cheating? Would it be okay if he went past that boundary because he didn't agree? If you can't respect how he feels, do him a favour and end it now before you start up with someone else.

I think if you're on a break you are still in a relationship or emotionally envolved with that person. Therefore I would consider it cheating, if you had broken up then it's obviously not because you aren't together but being on a break is in a funny middle ground. Think how you would feel if he kissed/sexual contact/ had sex with someone else! Hope that helps x

I just don't believe in breaks, period. You can't take a break when you get married. My ex-husband tried that, said he needed some space, so I went to live at my sister's house for what was supposed to be 2 weeks. After 3 days he called begging me to come home. Why? Because he was tempted to go cheat and "needed me back home so he didn't."

Idk. Whatever works for you, but to try and answer your question, I would stay away from doing anything with anyone until your break is over.

i'm on rachel's side of this argument, ross was completely in the wrong. If you have a possibility of getting back together with someone then you should spend the break time thinking of ways to make it work, not meeting other people
