Birth control opinions

So I've tried a few forms of birth control. The shot, and the pill. I have a phobia of needles so I only got the shot once and I kept forgetting to take the pill. My friend got the bar and it broke in her arm so I'm scared about trying that one. But now she has a birth control patch..? To anyone that has tried the patch how effective is it? And what are yalls opinions on the best form of contraceptives
