TTC: how often should you have sex?

Question

My BF and I have been TTC since December but every pregnancy test has been negative so far.

So just out of curiousity: how often should you have sex to get pregnant? Some of my girlfriends say every two days, others say every other day. I even read an article online that said that you should have sex every day during your fertile window.

I heard people say that if you have Sex too much it's less likely to get pregnant, if you wait a few days and you 2 will be more into it and it could happen that way. I didn't get pregnant for 1 year and 4 months after marriage. I prayed for a child and after 1 year and 4 months I got pregnant. Now I have 2 kids.

Every other day ..... Doing it daily can lower sperm effectiveness.
