Is it possible to make it through induction without an epidural?

Yes both of mine I couldn't feel my contractions so everyone is different. Don't let the horror stories scare you. Labor is painful within itself and most can't go with out an epidural so to be induced is no different. Plus most are FTM these days and never knew what it felt like to begin with without being induced so they think it was all the meds.

I was induced and had a 51 hour labor and I had an epidural at 30 hours because they gave me ambian to help me sleep but instead it made me so exhausted that I couldn't handle the contractions anymore. I'm convinced if I never did it I would've never needed the epidural.

I was induced when my babies had passed away in utero ar 18 weeks. It was the worst pain (physical and emotional) of my life. I ended up getting the epidural at 2cm. It was a god send and I wish I would have done it earlier. Maybe it will be different for someone who knows they have something to look forward to at the end, but for me it was unbearable.

Son 1 - induction as overdue, was in labour for over 30 hours...had epidural, and was glad! Only 7lb 12 but was back to back and coming out forehead first! 
Son 2 - induction again as overdue. No pain relief what so ever, he was 10lb!

You can do it! But if you need the pain relief then take it!! It's a different experience for every labour!
