Hurting my baby?

Question

Prenatals make me so sick. I try to take them everyday but I end up puking. I switched to gummies and have same problem. I hold them down maybe 4 days a week. Is my baby going to have defects?

Your not hurting your baby!! Why would you think that. Just try to get at least one nutritious meal in. Prenatal vitamins are for you momma! the baby is taking all the nutrients it needs from your body so when you take the vitamin it's mostly for you. Don't worry. Hope you fee better

My doctor actually told me it's not important to take prenatals. I took flinstones vitamins w my first pregnancy and now I am 7w4d and I take women's one a day. Only thing you really need is folic acid.

Prenatals are most important before you even conceive or get a positive! If they're making you sick just stop taking them and try to eat nutritious food and avoid junk. There's nothing better for your baby than actual food. Good luck!

If I take them in the AM Or mid day I am sick too, but at bedtime fine. Have you tried that?

I am in a very similar situation. I am sick all the time and now i take my vitamins at night. I feel a lot better taking them at night. You should try, and just do what makes you feel better. And if you dont take them a few times i really dont think is the worst thing in the world.

I had to switch to chewables because the smell of my pills made me feel like hurling.

If you can't keep them down, just try to eat lots of healthy foods to make sure that you are getting everything that you and the baby need. Once you stop feeling sick, you can try to start taking the vitamins again. Gummies don't have iron though, so you might want to add an iron supplement or switch to chewables. Ask your doctor and they'll help. :)

The vitamins are truly dependent on your diet. If you can get all your vitamins and minerals from your diet than there is little To worry about. I am on the low side for iron and vit D so I personally feel better taking them. The baby will take what they need from you, it is your body that will pay if your not getting the nutrients you need to sustain the baby and yourself. Have you tried taking the multivitamin with milk? It's a temporary solution until your tummy feels better, possibly. it helps me :) good luck!
