Acid reflux?

My baby constantly gags, and swallows. Then right after she gets the hiccups. I'm thinking she has bad acid reflux. Her doctor says its normal for infants at 5 weeks to have acid reflux, but I don't think she realizes the extent. It hurts her, and she chokes sometimes. Is there anything that I can do to help her?

I had the same situation with our daughter with the milk coming out of her nose and hiccups. My dr recommend sitting her down when I feed her and hold the bottle up. It honestly has been the best thing and has helped her so much we haven't had anymore situations of her throwing up or choking especially not the milk coming out of the nose anymore. You can also try these different ways to burp they helped me out really.

Mine was the same way. We went to the dr yesterday and while she is not quick to suggest meds, she put him on Zantac. We started it yesterday. He's on .6ml every 8 hours. He seems to be better but I hear it takes a few days to really take effect. I Cried bc i didn't want to Medicate but I also couldn't stand to see him suffer in pain. Zantac is the only FDA approved drug for infants with reflux.

My daughter has reflux and does the same thing. Constantly has the hiccups, especially after she eats. Her pediatrician put her on Zantac and it seems to be working for the gagging but not so much the hiccups!

I have also had this issue. Dr prescribed Zantac for him but I didn't believe he had acid reflux because he is not fussy for me and hardly ever spits up.. Until the past couple weeks. Now he will vomit every so often and it has come out of his nose also. Started giving him the Zantac, hoping this helps along with hopefully eventually helping with our latching issues too.

My baby girl does this constantly, im terrified of her aspirating on it in her sleep 😔 she will be three weeks old this week. I asked her doctor about it and he said its normal for newborns 😒 going to bring it up again at her one month appointment

I would like more information on this as well. My son will wake from being sleep by choking. It's so scary. It will seem like he is going to throw up but nothing comes out so yeah it's like he's gagging.. he has a doctor's appointment coming up this week so I will definitely talk to the doctor about it
