Boyfriends attitude?

Hey guys... I don't really have anyone I can speak to... I don't have any friends expect for him but... Today my boyfriend and I started a conversation on why parents split up. Of course one thing lead after another and the conversation turned into arguing. We both are different in the way we think about how life works. Of course that didn't stop us from the love and the connection we had in all the other aspects of 'love' but today was bad because he started calling me stupid and when I started crying and said "I can't speak with you right now" I got out of his car and walked away. When I did that he yelled "fuck you" and when I tried to apologize for hurting his feelings and tried to explain to him how I felt he said "I don't give a shit"... I need advice on what to say or do. We've never gotten into an argument like this before and he never has stayed mad at me like this and I'm not sure if he meant any of it to be honest... I have terrible self esteem and I'm just a little bit depressed and don't have anyone else.. Not even a family. Please guys any help or advice would be so good. I love him and this is the first relationship I have ever been in. It's been almost 3 years so help??....
