Opinions on HPV shot?

My doctors what me to get the HPV shot and I don't know how I feel about it, opinions?

I wish they'd had it when I was young enough to get it. It prevents against the types of HPV that cause cervical cancer. That's a good in my book.

My mom was too scared of the side effects when I was a teenager so I never got it

I was offered it back in school and declined. I considered asking for them when I was 18 and 2 years later, I still haven't had them. I probably should so that I can be on the safe side but personally, it's not something that appeals to me.
