Work from home jobs?

Question

I am a teacher and also have a BBA but would like to find a work from home job. I have experience in both fields of work. I want to be a stay at home and still be able to provide for my family. I am interested in remote positions and occasionally having to go into office if needed. Not one of those distributor jobs (I.e. Essential oils, itworks, beauty control) but one that I can do work from home computer. Open to suggestions.

The "work from home "reality.
 This will be long, and I apologize. Unless u want to sell crap online, or attempt the -it works-crap, "working from home" jobs are not as easy as you might think. Remote jobs ARE real and DO pay REALLY WELL. However, they are NOT something you just get. You simply MUST have some experience in both working remotely(thus having a solid base knowledge of how to work your way around a computer),AND EXPERIENCE in a field, such as Remote Tech Support, or Customer Service, or Medical Billing and Coding. Those three are pretty much the ONLY remote fields you can get into. From those three fields, many remote positions branch off and become available. You also need to meet minimum requirements. These requirements are usually standard, no matter what fowldield or company u end up with. .such as a DESKTOP computer(laptops are unstable ). FAST Internet connection (they do test your connection). MUST be connected via ethernet cable, NOT wifi (wifi is unstable ). Windows 7 or above. A QUIET work environment at all times while you're on the clock. And it doesn't end there...just cause you get to work out of your home and pjs, doesn't mean u will work the shift and hours YOU want. ..shifts are usually put up for bidding EVERY SIX MONTHS. .and the ones with seniority over you, WILL GET THE BETTER SHIFT (HOURS), meaning you will probably be stuck night time shift for a while. REAL REMOTE JOBS ARE AWSOME, but by far harder to obtain and maintain.
My first remote job as a remote IT TECH SUPPORT, just like any other REAL remote jobs,  required me to have at least a year in the field and a bare minimum of an A+ certification. Extended knowledge of computers, customer service and remote access knowledge.i has to pass 2 over the phone interviews, pass the system requirements and I was shadowed for the first 6 months. 
While not all remote positions are the same,  most if the requirements do not change.  The reality is that there no easy remote jobs.

You don't have short term disability. I'm a teacher too and I'm going to use that to get by for the three months I don't go to work.

I'd try to get started in project management, considering your business degree. I work remotely for a tech company that encourages full-time telecommuting for almost everyone except management, and I know a few of our project managers are remote. They may go into the office a few days a week, or a few days a month, or whatever is needed for face-to-face meetings.

Hey hun. You could maybe look into designing distance ed curriculum/marking/grading for an online college or something along those lines. other than that you'd probably be looking at data entry for something entry level. In most cases, a company will require at least a year of you working on site before they will let you work remotely. Speaking from experience as somebody who does work remotely full time, it may not be what you expect. You cannot properly care for your children and work at the same time, thus you will still need to arrange childcare for them. In most cases, this will be a requirement within your teleworking agreement. Flexible hours are considered a benefit and you would be very lucky to get this, especially without seniority. You need a designated office space, most likely with a lock on the door. Not all companies will provide equipment, high speed internet, phone lines etc. So you may be faced with significant upfront costs and need to factor in your increased monthly expenses. Finally, if you are at all a social person (which I am assuming you are as a teacher), keep in mind that you will be isolating yourself from coworkers and the casual human contact you receive every day on your commute. I am not saying there aren't major benefits to working from home, but just thought you should be aware that it is not as simple as plodding away on your keyboard with a toddler on your lap.

What about teachers-pay-teachers? Or designing lesson plans/educational materials for museums (small museums that don't have someone on staff for that)?

Been thinking about the same thing.  When I go on maternity leave it will be unpaid and I hate not making my own money and having to rely on my husband.
