What are the pros and cons of having a c section done?

Pro: I was able to have a healthy baby boy! I was able to trust my doctor doing the surgery because she has been in my life a long time. (This is my second c-section). First was emergency and second was scheduled!

Con: It's a serious surgery. Healing time can take a while. I am not completely healed from mine. You don't get to experience having a natural birth. You have to be under drugs. You can only have one person in the room with you. Not that vaginal birth isn't painful, but having that incision so low is extremely painful. (That first time you get out of bed is a deathly nightmare).

I would only have a c- section if your doctor is saying you absolutely need it because your baby can not come down or if there is something medically wrong with you or baby!!

PRO! My kids are 8 and 6 years old, both delivered via emergency c-section. All three of us are here today because my awesome doctors had the access and ability to make that call in the most important moments, so for me it was never a choice but a necessity, and I'm so grateful. In both situations, my doctor was able to perform the surgery before a serious situation turned critical, and as a result, each time I delivered a healthy 
 aby only a few weeks early and my body recovered well. Now I'm 36, in the best shape of my shape of my life, and have nothing but a discreet scar that I don't mind a bit. :) And best of all, I have these two goofballs. <3 <3

Pro it should only be done if medically needed

Con its major surgery healing time can be longer and most cases is longer recommended not to try and get pregnant for at least 18 months as anything shorter can cause rupture of uterus and incision some drs and hospitals will allow you to do a vaginal birth after c section (vbac) but some wont and will need repeat c secrion if you get pregnant again after 2 years

My husband and I are TTC but I am frightened to death of giving both naturally. I know every one is different but it scares me to no end. I want a C section when the time comes but I don't think we are
Able to decide like that in Canada, well not where I am.
