Scary Dreams :-/

Brittany
Hi everyone! I'm 17.5 weeks today and I keep waking up very often at like 5am because I'm having nightmares. They are so scary to the point that I am waking up in tears! I looked it up on line and still idk what I'm supposed to do. This is my first baby! Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to stop the dreams?

The same thing happens to me. Ever since I've been pregnant I've had very vivid dreams. A couple as you described that have me in tears when I wake up. Strange thing is I'm never pregnant in the dreams. Only one time and I dreamed me and family was getting ready to get in van and leave and my SO put a bassinet in front yard and said we had to leave baby in it because there was no room in the van! Couldn't tell if was a boy or girl because it was only in a diaper : ( The experts say there's no need to worry about dreams though. They say it's your mind in overdrive with all the hormones and emotions that cause these crazy, sometimes horrifying, dreams. My opinion is that They reveal our inner fears and might be showing us just how irrational some of the things we worry about really are...unfortunately, there's no cure :(

I have noticed that since being pregnant I have had some crazy vivid dreams and nightmares. From what I have come to understand it is pretty normal.  Try not to read too much into the content of them.

Dreams are often influenced by our thoughts and fears during our waking hours. Do all you can to have only positive thoughts about baby and block out anything negative. It's a discipline, but I think that will help.

Awwww!!! I was dreaming that I was in the middle of a shooting and I woke up because I had to use the bathroom. I'm going to research it more

I had a scary dream the other night that I was going into labor, but during the dream, my baby woke me up by kicking me! it was so sweet.

If you drink a lot of juice or pop before you go to sleep that can cause them it was happening to me

Well I do dream of incidents that I've seen on the news it just puts me in the different scenarios which makes it scarier😖 Yeah I try not to eat before I go to bed, I've always done that before pregnancy. This is just scary and now I'm up and can't go back to sleep :-( I just want them to stop
