Materialistic
My husband is in the army and is currently overseas for a yearlong tour. Since he's been gone I've sent him about four boxes full of stuff because I love getting things for the people I love, especially when I know they will like what I give them. My husband on the other hand, doesn't feel the same way about giving gifts. Along with enjoying gift giving, I also enjoy receiving gifts. Not necessarily for the items themselves but because it's nice to know that someone took the time and effort to find something they knew I would really like. Since being gone my husband has only sent me two things on his own accord, flowers and a pregnancy pillow on Valentine's Day. He also sent me some onesies and a nursing shirt but that was only because I got upset and cried when he didn't want to celebrate Mother's Day. Everytime I mention that it would be nice to receive a random and thoughtful gift from him just like he receives from me, he guilt trips me and says I'm materialistic and I don't appreciate what I got for Valentine's Day. I do appreciate what he's given me and I know he isn't a very good gift giver but still, it would be nice to get something special every once in a while just to keep the spark going while he's gone. I'm just ranting but I know a lot of people are going to judge me for posting this and say I'm a terrible wife.
