Dark skin 23 weeks pregnant????

Question

Okay so around my inner thighs and the outlining or my crack my skin has become really dark, and it was never like this before I was pregnant? 
I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through this and what they did or used to make it go away?

Melanin, dark pigment in skin, is common during pregnancy. You can get a line up your belly, from pubis to bra line, or even get it on your face. It's commonly called pregnancy mask when seen on the face. It should fade and lighten after pregnancy, when your hormones get back to normal, although sometimes not completely. Sometimes it's permanent. Don't use lighteners or bleaches they will not help because it's a result of hormones, not sun exposure. Best treatment is to leave it alone, it's something that happens from pregnancy, like stretch marks. Congrats you're growing a person, welcome to the wonderful world of weird side effects it can have.
