I asked my mom & sister to arrange my baby shower, we sat down and chatted about the type of shower I wanted (i want a high tea, with the theme of breakfast at Tiffany's) then I said to my mom it might be nice if she were to get my partners mom involved since this is her 1st grandchild.

Well his mother has just taken over completely, she's gotten my partners brothers girlfriend involved, who I'm not close to at all, she's going over board, and apparently even arranging a 3 tier cake that looks like a wedding cake! And inviting every person she's ever met! I really just want something small and intimate...

So my mom feels shoved aside, and I don't think this baby shower is about me any more!

Am I allowed to feel upset that I want my mom to arrange it not my partners mom?
