I registered for one that can do both! That way when I'm alone, I can wear it as a backpack, but when my husband is with me, I'd prefer a cross body bag. So the one I registered for does both :)

I think it's just a personal preference.. I'm going with a backpack but that's because I've never used a purse in my life and I hate carrying a bag.
