If you paid for your maid of honor and bridesmaid's dresses, shoes, and accessories...Is it tacky to ask them to pay for their own hair or makeup or to do it themselves?

Where I come from, the bridesmaids are expected to pay for everything themselves. Dresses, shoes, jewelry, hair, makeup, ect.

I don't think it's tacky. A lot of brides don't even pay for the dresses, shoes, and accessories! They make the bridal party pay for it themselves!

Depends on what effect you are looking for.  If you are chill wedding and happy for everyone to be quite individual on hair and make up, I think this is fine. If you he a particular look you expect them to achieve, I think covering it as a wedding expense is more fair.

No. Mine even had to pay for their own dresses and shoes. No where I saw said the bride had to pay for it. And the weddings I have been in before I had to buy all my stuff.

Mine all paid for their own dresses and shoes, mind you I let them collectively decide on a dress and shoes they all liked that they could wear again and it was quite affordable. Make up, I got a good deal so they each paid for their own if they wanted it done but they didn't have to have it done. And hair, no one wanted to pay for their hair so I had mine professionally done and they did theirs themselves. It all worked out, they were maybe $200 in at the end of it. Which I think is pretty reasonable
