Ladies please give your advice

Okay my SO works as a door to door salesman, works commission, which i guess is an alright job for a while but from the way he talks he has nothing else in mind because he loves this job. Like he talks about it all the time and he enjoys it. He works 6 days a week and only has one day a week to see me. He lives with his mentor, who mind you has been working in this job for more than 10 years. Idk how someone can last that long on a commission job especially since they sell something not many people buy. I have a decent paying job and would like to have someone who has a job that gives some sort of security and no i don't want to live like a rich person but i also don't want to live check to check. I know with my job i can care for myself but i don't want to be the one baring all the costs of everything. I am for sharing costs like when we go out sometimes he pays sometimes i pay and i am okay with that. I guess i just want to know if it's super shallow of me to be thinking of breaking up with him? I know he likes this job but who wants to have a commission job for life?
