Dogs & Car seats?

Hi all,

I have a Honda Fit & I'm about to purchase a Britax B-safe 35 car seat.  We have a beautiful 3 yo chocolate lab that rides in my backseat to and from daycare twice a week! She's used to having the space all to herself, AND my dog hair cover is for the whole backseat.  I don't think it will work with the car seat.   Any suggestions for creating a comfortable, safe, and stylish (hair free) area for my dog & infant to co-exist??

The dog hair mat should fit under the car seat. It will help protect your seat from car seat indents too.

They have a dog seatbelts it might be a good idea to buckle up the pup so they both have personal space?

I second the dog seat belt.  Your dog is at risk of being harmed in an accident.  It wasn't until I was in my first accident that I realized my dog would have went straight through the windshield had he not been buckled up.  The dog is also at risk of flying into you, baby or the car seat in an impact.  Don't want to lecture but it's a really scary thing that no one thinks about.

I would give the dog a blanket to lay on and stay on top of vacuuming.  I think that's all you can really do!
