Weight loss tips?

Hi I'm trying to lose weight this summer before going back to college.
I'm 185 pounds and 5'4. I want to lose 40 lbs but I'm pretty sure that's impossible working with 2 1/2 months. Maybe 20 pounds but not likely 40. 
I just wanted some advice on my plan and if t is good or if I should change some things
I plan to workout each morning 30-60 minutes cardio. 
And run for 30 minutes in the evenings.
I plan to eat fruit, veggies, slim fast, and half a turkey,cheese and lettuce sub from subway. 
I am also counting calories and documenting everything I eat and do in the app Lose It.
Think this is a decent plan?
I'd appreciate feedback and testimonies!
