How much does your husband help with your LO?

So our LO is 7 weeks old now and since I'm having issues breastfeeding, I'm now exclusively pumping and using formula to supplement.  We've been using bottles for the last 3 weeks and now that I'm not the only one able to feed our little guy was hoping the hubby would help alleviate some of the stress of the night time feedings... But he hasn't.  I know he has to work during the day and I'm still on maternity leave, but I feel he should share the responsibility of the feedings since he can.  Not to mention I still have to get up and pump every 4 hours still... So I'm never getting more than 4 hours of sleep as it is but if he were to get up and take care of the feeding I could get back to sleep sooner.  Am I being selfish?

My husband and I do every other feeding/diaper change. While I was on maternity leave I did all the night feedings because he had to work. Now that I'm back to work we do every other night for wake ups. Saturday and Sunday's he gets up with him and let's me sleep in since he gets up early anyway.

My husbands takes care of our boy when he gets home, so 6pm till 1 am. 
I take care of him from 1 am - 6am then he takes care of our dogs before he goes to work while I get up with the baby. So we each have 5 hour shifts so mama can get a quick snooze in and food. Try to work something like that out

My hubby works 6-7 days a week, 10+16 hrs a day. I do 100% of everything with baby. If he has time to read him a story it's been a successful night of him helping out because all he does (or have time for) is work and sleep.

My husband is a god send. My older children's father couldn't be bothered for crap. He changed maybe 5 of his daughters diapers her whole life!

My husband now though, he cried because the baby only wanted me, since he was breastfed. We introduced a bottle specifically for him to have that bond. He was up anytime I needed him and I have some awful PPD so for a while he had to do a lot. He took FMLA and spent as much time with us as he could. To this day, he will take off work to go to doctors visits, he comes home and immediately takes over and plays with our 3 year old. He takes him to the park, by himself. He could run a daycare! I trust him with everything.

I wish I had him father my other kids, they would be so much more well adjusted and I would have had more happy memories.

You need to talk to him. If you need more help than what you are getting, explain that to him.

My little boy is 1.5 years old and still wakes up once a night. My fiancé has gotten up with him maybe a handful of times in his 1.5 years of life. It used to really frustrate me but now I'm just so used to it that it really doesn't bother me. For 8months after he was born I worked and my fiancé stayed at home and I would still get up during the night even though he was the stay at home parent, that was the most frustrating but now that he is working and I stay home I still get up with him.

You get used to it after awhile, some guys really can't function in the middle of the night, but my fiancé is awesome with him during the day!

You are both working. He doesn't get a free pass from the duties of parenthood because his work is outside the home. He needs to man up and be a father.

Every chance he gets with the 3 we have, and his plan is to take primary care of the baby while he's home on weekends since it's just me with the kids during the week because he works away from home. I have no problem continuing on weekends, but he tells me that he created that child and to expect him to only hand him over for every other feeding at absolute most. He wants to do diapers and bottles and rocking and nap times and overnight. I believe him, too, because he's that way with our other 3.

I was in the same boat as you when we had our first I was getting up every 2-3 hours pumping feeding washing the tubes all hours of night. On the week nights when he had to go to work the next day I wouldn't want him getting up as his job is very physically exhausting. On the weekends when he's not working I would ask if he could help. A lot of men just need to be asked to help they think we're robots or super women. I would let him know if nights/days that he's Not working to help you out more

Talk to him about how you're feeling, communication is key and he may not realise just how hard this is for you.
