On the 22nd I was feeling a little off, just as I had been for a little while. I had been having high blood pressure and felt dizzy on and off. After speaking with my husband about it, we decided to go and check my blood pressure (at Walmart😂) and if it was high, we would pray and ask God if we should call the doctors (which we automatically knew would mean going to hospital). This is our first child so we didn't want to make something out of nothing. After checking my BP and seeing it was high, we prayed, we called and got admitted. Doctors kept me overnight and ran some tests. They said I had gestational hypertension and I did not have preeclampsia. Through the night my BP had gone down a little, so they sent me home with the 24 hour urine test (which I thought was gonna be a total waste of time). My husband turned in the urine the next morning and they called that afternoon and wanted me to come in for some monitoring and to go over the results. Turns out, I had very very mild preeclampsia and the doctor said my BP would have great readings and a few really bad ones and eventually I would tip over the edge and only have bad readings. So they decided to induce me at 38 & 6 weeks. I went to the hospital thursday (the 23rd) afternoon at 4pm and they started cervidil at 6am and kept in until 5am the next morning (the 24th). When I had come in initially I was already at 3cm and 70%. After cervidil I was still 3cm but 90%. They started pitocin after taking out the cervidil around 6am. Around 9am I was dilated a little more than 4cm and the doctor decided to break my water. I was having really strong contractions every few mins and would have two back to back. Around 11 I was almost 6cm dilated & got the epidural ( & soooo glad I did). By 12:30 I was almost 10cm. Doctor came in at 1:15 and said he was about to come out and was time to push! Baby boy had the unbiblical cord around his neck, so everytime I pushed his heart rate would drop. After about 30 mins the doctor decided to use the vacuum on him. Baby boy was born at 2:12pm at 7lbs11oz & 20.5in long and perfectly healthy. I am so in love and so incredibly thankful that God blessed me so immensely with this beautiful baby boy.💙
