Elle-Leah I would say is a girl name and Elle-lya is a boy name

I feel like here in the US it's mostly considered a girls name (I'm having a girl) but in Germany, where I'm from and my family lives, and especially in Italy and Switzerland it's a boys name. A more common name in Germany for boys is Elias. Hubby and I both like Elia for a girl, but I'm not sure about the reactions from the people back home. I know it shouldn't matter what they think, but I just wanted some input so thank you 🙃
