Because u always have lh (what the opk is measuring) in ur system, but the surge/peak is what causes ur egg to release (ovulation). Once u get ur peak u shouldn't carry on testing because u can get a second 'positive' due to the levels bouncing around so much. This is a positive, when I get chance I'll put u up a pic of all my tests leading to a positive. Ull see how much they vary until the positive appears

You want the test line to be as dark as the control. I got so frustrated last month trying to figure out what was positive I just got the digital ones. Worth the money in my opinion to not have to stress about line eyes. Good luck!
