Baby Shower Favors?

Question

Is not giving out favors at a baby shower tacty?  Most favors are useless trinkets that people don't use anyways, but is it poor taste to not give out favors to each guest?  We're having a large shower with both families, friends, and our church family -- anywhere from 50-75 people.  So favors can get expensive at $2-3 each for a piece of junk.  Just curious for thoughts.

Well your favour doesn't have to be junk, and if you come up with something useful, wholesale prices can help keep the cost down..aim for something less than a dollar each.

At my first shower they didn't do favors, but did like 3 games (had about 30 ppl there.) I don't think anyone noticed. Most every shower I've been to that had more then 15 people didn't have party favors. I'm planning my other one for my side of the family and have invited almost 30 women not including hubbies (co-Ed) so I don't plan to have favors, and just a couple of games. Diaper raffle for the guys, and another one for the ladies.

I am having a shower in August  with 120 guest and wanted to give out inexpensive favors so I'm making chocolate covered oreos and putting them in  these favor boxes  ..but favors are not a must at showers

I feel like it's a nice gesture since most of your guests will probably bring gifts for you and your baby. It's definitely not necessary but you could give something small like a little bag of candies or you can bake cookies or treats and wrap them individually for people to take if they want. It's really up to you though so do what you feel comfortable with!

I made chocolate covered pretzel rods with a shot bottle attached for my brothers man-shower. For my shower my mil filled up little baby bottles with candies. And for my SIL baby shower they had a candy bar with bags to take home candy if you wanted.

We're having a diaper party, since this is our third baby. Instead of favors, we're thinking about doing a raffle. Whoever brings a pack of diapers gets their name entered into a raffle for a gift card, or whatever we decide to get. But I might still do cookies for everyone too.

My Baby Shower will be super hero themed and these are examples of our favors. The actual cookies will have my son's initial below the logo

We are thinking of doing candy-type trinkets and turning it into another baby shower game. We're putting favors in a bag with instructions of passing them around while I'm opening presents (like "Pass to the left when mama opens a pink gift"), that way there's less eyes on me opening presents. I think they're nice, but it's all up to you.

We are just going to make a bunch of food, and have little candies in a  bag with thank you notes (: Co ed with a large Cupcake Cake, hotdogs hamburgers, salads, kinda like a BBQ!! We will have about 20-30 guests. That's all I got so far lol
