How many ounces?

How much should my almost 3 week old be eating?
I just started pumping, got around 5oz the first time. 
Baby ate 2.5oz and was unsatisfied, so I gave him the other 2oz and he finished almost all of it, but also spit up a bunch.
How much should he be eating? How much is too much?

He'll eat until he's full.
There isn't a right or wrong answer... He could have thrown up because flow from a bottle is different than and fast than flow from your nipple. Did you burp him between? He could have been gassy. Maybe he ate too much, maybe he ate too quickly. Maybe he wanted to. Lol! But honestly no one can say a precise number. There are approximate ounces, and the size of his tummy to consider. But babies will eat until full or they fall asleep. Or get bored. Lol.

They won't eat too much. If they get a little too full, they'll spit it back out. My son took 8 oz every hour and a half from birth and is still skinny as all get out. Babies haven't yet learned our horrible human habit of over-eating because we like the taste of something. (He's the 7 year old standing there in a 4T swimsuit that's falling off his butt)

Let him eat until he's satisfied. He'll probably spit up regardless. Just burp him really good or feed him half an ounce less and it should help.
