Should I take calcium supplements?
I don't eat much dairy, I just don't care for it and I don't like milk. I'll eat milk with cereal or in food (milk in a cake, milk in a meatloaf, etc.) My Dr said I should take a supplement then and take Tums when needed.. But I get really bad heartburn (at least with my last pregnancy, the entire second half of my pregnancy) and I can feel it starting now occasionally.
So a pregnant young woman needs 1000-1500 mg a day..
My supplement had 630 mg
Tums have 400mg per tab
If I take the supplement and get bad heartburn will I get too much calcium? When it's bad I'll take 3-6 tabs in a day.
