How long did it take you to ask your bridal party to be in the wedding?

The reason I ask is bc my sister got engaged 5 months ago and I know she is planning on asking me to be the maid of honor but she still hasn't. I'm overly annoyed with her! She has asked everybody else to be in the wedding like months ago but still not me. Wth?! My mom keeps telling her to do it but she just won't! Idk what to do!!

I asked within the first month . but then I regretted it because I had 4 bridesmaids; 2 showed up at the ceremony looking like shit .they looked like they rolled out of bed pulled on their dress, half arsed hair/make up, stormed out the door5 min before. Could not even walk down the isle like they were supposed to! Just schlumped down there,out of sync ,like hung over truckers

I think it depends on how long the engagement is going to be. Like if it's going to be like 2+ years. There's no reason to ask right now.

I never asked my sister, it was just understood she would be maid of honor. I actually only asked 2 of my bridesmaids. The other two (not counting my sister) also just understood they were part of the wedding party. So she may not ask at all and just assume you know that she wants you to be moh. Just ask her nonchalantly who her bridesmaids and moh is. Or a little more discreetly who is walking down the aisle together and when she says you with the best man, be surprised and say you didn't know you were moh because she never asked.
