Would you get involved with someone who has kids?

I saw this post and I personally am sad at it. I wouldn't want to date someone with kids because I'm young and I hate baby mama drama . I also hate the thought of a child calling me mom when I'm not his mom. If the roles were reversed I wouldn't want my child around anyone who isn't his father. As well as all the rape stories you hear about step parents. I know not everyone is like this so just seeing everyone's thoughts.

Doesn't matter. If the right man happened to have children I would embrace them. 
But I wouldn't want to meet them until I knew I was serious with the guy.

I'd get involved if I really liked the other person. Regardless if they had kids. I don't like drama either but it's life

I wouldn't mind someone who has kids AS LONG AS he plays an active role in my life. If anything, a man with kids will show me straight up if that's the man I want for my kids & I can better gauge his level of responsibility. I don't mind coming second to a mans kids.

With that being said, I wouldn't want to meet the kids until I knew he & I were serious about our relationship. And at that point, I would want to meet their mother too out of respect (she should know who's going to be around her kids; I would want to).

This post made ME sad, like the ignorance in it 😭 most separated parents coparent with no drama and the fact that you would mean enough to a child for them to call you mom offends you? No child would just straight up start calling you mom, you'd be LUCKY for that to happen as a stepparent. My stepdad has been in my life for 20 years and I still call him big mike (that's since I was 2). Also what about all the "rape stories" involving close family members (grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, hell even parents!) that far outnumber those with stepparents? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, if you don't want to date someone with kids, don't, but please educate yourself before spewing ignorance and I hope you never end up as a single parent.

I did. My 'Rule' for years was to never get involved with someone with kids but then I gave my other half a chance after he was persistent for almost 2 years. I gave in. He had a 9 year old at the time. Now the kid is 13 he's a miserable brat lol.
