High blood pressure?

When I went to my first OB appointment she said that my blood pressure was very high but she would just check it the next time I went in because I could have just been nervous for the first appointment. But everytime I stand up I get very light headed and can't catch my breath sometimes I start to get black spots. my mom said she's worried it could be high blood pressure but when I called the office she said she can't even get me an appointment until July 11th. So are there any symptoms I should watch for with high blood pressure?
