An introduction

Kerian

Hello everyone,

Let me officially introduce myself. My name is Kerian Vernon-Stariwat. Recently moved to Spokane, got married to a wonderful man and gave birth to our son Jaden Stariwat. Who's now 1 month 13 days.

He was born on May 16, at 6:07. He's our first and we couldn't be happier. We decided on home birth as we wanted to have a more intimate setting with a natural, pain medz free experience (you know, like how those other mothers did it way back when without all th4 fancy pain medz) :-).

Labour started on the eve of his birth (Sunday morning 3.am) and lasted for 26 hours. OH MAN! Hands down, it was the most beautiful and excruciatingly painful experience in my life, and one I'd do again in a heart beat. He was the most beautiful creature I'd ever seen... He weighed 8.5lbs, 21.5 cm in leght..14.5 head circumference. He let out a brief Cry, but was so calm and ALERT after.

I'm hoping im not the only one... but immediately after his birth I remembered feeling mostly relieved. Not emotional or overjoyed with tears (like his dad :-)), But mostly exhausted and relieved that the presumably "hardest" was over... (someone should have told me it was just beginning) lol.. and I just wanted to sleep like there was no tomorrow, (might I add that this little fella had me awake and mostly on my feet for 26 hours...) but the moment I held him and started nursing I could not sleep a wink as he was so precious. I couldnt belive I'd done it. (Delivered him without pain medz after 26 long hours of pain and absolutely no sleep). I Delivered an actual human being (it's mind blowing everytime I think about it)

Come to think of it, I remember reading some where that "giving birth is the closet we come to being apart of creation " and it's so true. I just want to say Power and respect to all Mothers out there.. we are breeders of life! What's more profound than that?

Anyways..shutting up now... thanks for reading . Here are pic of our little swirl baby
