A little bit of advice?

I have been in a long distance relationship for about 5 years now. He doesn't really want me to do anything such as working and stuff so past 3 years I have not done anything I've missed out on a lot such as jobs and other things. I literally Sit here every day waiting up to 8 hours just for him to text or call me. Then he gets onto me for not having a job and stuff and not having any independence. So I was like ok then now I'm gonna go get a job and car and my own place. Now he's again mad and thinking I'm distancing myself from him and stuff. He ask me a thousand questions and everything like what I am doing and whom I am with. I just don't know what to really do anymore.
