What we should know

Really don't know what group to put this in. But I just wanted to ask the ladies on here that have already given birth, what are the things that happen during labor/birth that people don't ever talk about? I didn't know for a long time that you deliver the placenta..because who the heck talks about that? Lol thought it might be good info for all of us soon to be moms

Anything can happen. I didn't know labor could make you throw up, but it can (and I did!). It is a bit more commonly know now, but it is not all that unusual to poop while you are pushing (did that, too...I have no shame left, lol). Drink LOTS of fluids and eat if allowed....it is exhausting work and may go longer than anyone expects! You need to have all your strength and energy if things don't go quickly and smoothly. Labor and delivery are no joke (duh)...it hurts like nothing else ever will and the recovery can be long. If you have a vbac you will be wearing a massive pad/diaper for awhile while you finish bleeding.... You may feel quite disgusted during your first shower after delivery! Do not wear clothes to labor/deliver in that you are too attached to as they will likely get all sorts of bodily fluids or material in them.

You will not forget the pain (I was always told that), but time goes on and more often than not we women find ourselves signing up for it again because it is so worth it.
