Cloth Baby Carriers?

Question

I'm thinking I'd like a cloth baby carrier! So far I like the ones that are just a straight piece of fabric that can be wound and tied as desired (within safety reasons of course). Does anyone have any experience with them? Which ones do you think work best? I know there's a lot of different styles out there, I can't decide what I like best!

Baby hasn't arrived yet but I have the Moby wrap & I can't wait to use it. I practiced tying it & it was a bit tricky at first, but I'm positive it had a lot to do with my belly in the way lol. I'm sure after baby is here I'll get the hang of it.

Out of all the wraps I've tried, I liked to Solly wrap the most. Honestly, I much prefer ring slings to the wraps though- they're easier on the go and don't feel as constricting.

We have a moby and a k'tan and love them both. Moby can get hot though with all that extra material.

I used one similar to a moby but an off brand (got on Amazon for $20). Never had an issue. When I'm headed out and going to use it, I fold it before I leave the house.

Even have a water one for the pool (we live in FL, so it was a must!)

I have a Boba wrap and love it!  I had to watch a video on their website at first and practice a few times but now I can do it in about a minute.

I have a Moby wrap and love it. My son really enjoys it too, and almost always falls asleep when he is in it. The fabric is thicker than some other wraps and helps reassure me that my he is secure. Wraps are intimidating at first sight but are easy to use once you get the hang of it. YouTube has a ton of instructional videos on the different baby carriers out there.

I've tried the quiet a few. As for the straight cloth wraps I liked them for myself but others were a little confused and I was worried they would not wear it right. I got a Mai Thai wrap which I trust others to use also and it's quiet comfortable. I also I have carrier called CatBirdBaby Pikklo which I love!

For stretchy wraps, Solly are great. If you are looking into woven wraps though, you'd definitely want to start researching. I found it best to google "woven wraps for beginners" and found a wealth of information out there. There are tons of babywearing swaps on Facebook so you can typically find a wonderful wrap that is broken in and a bit cheaper than it would be new. I plan to babywear almost exclusively, and now own two ring slings, three woven wraps, a Solly and an Ergo. Good luck!

They're a bit inconvenient if you want to use it while you're out somewhere. It's not easy to try to wrap it correctly and position the baby in a parking lot or in the rain. The stretchy ones aren't great for long term use either. But the woven wraps will hold up to a heavier child.
