My 13 week appointment heartbeat was 160 bpm and my 16 week appointment heartbeat was 142 bpm what does this mean ? Does it indicate that I'm having a boy or what ? Cause I hear rumors about that

It means your baby's doing good! My little girls heart rate ranged from 110-180. Heart rate gender prediction is an old wives tale.

My doctor told me that Baby's HB can decrease until about 20-25 weeks then stay consistent until birth. She says it also depends on what time of day it is, how active you've been, if you've eaten or drank anything right before, etc. At our very first appointment at 10w, HB was 183. At my 20w ultrasound, HB was 153. When we check with our home Doppler, it's between 125-140. As long as the HB is over 80, baby is completely fine!

Some people say you can tell gender by heart beat but really you can't. The Heart beat just depends on how active your baby is at the time.
