Pampers swaddlers diapers smell when soiled?!

Moms who have experience with pampers and other brands- lately I've noticed that the pampers swaddlers really have a smell when the baby soils the diaper. Are there other brands like huggies or luvs that are less stinky, or is it all the same? We've never used anything other than pampers since coming back from the hospital.

I've never noticed that with pampers. The only time I ever notice a smell is when my son pees in the Costco diapers

We are using up pampers supply we have now so I don't waste them before she outgrows them. IMHO, The wetness indicator is useless because I can smell when LO has pissed in them lol I prefer Luvs, has a sweet powdery scent to them already (a lot of people don't seem to like that?) and I can't smell her when she's done 1 or 2.

Yes! It has a weird chemical smell when the diaper is even the least bit wet. We have been using Huggies Little Snugglers and they don't smell at all.

I must have a super nose. I've been able to smell every poop and pee since he was born. We've used pretty much every diaper (we were gifted a bunch) and it doesn't make a difference.

Actually, thinking about it, the only time I can't smell is when we cloth diaper. I use prefolds and flats with thirsties covers and just have to remember to change him every couple of hours since there's never a smell. Don't know the science behind it, but that's my experience!

I agree but only huggie swaddlers don't smell, even  the other huggies smell like pee to me. And other brands. We stick to swaddlers 🙂

Yes I couldn't stand it! Family would hold the baby and think she pooped. But no its just the diaper when she pees in them

Same happens when my son wears pampers. He was allergic to Luvs so we don't use those and Huggies always leaked for my first so I don't use those either. I think it's a chemical reaction when the urine hit the color indicator line. 
The target Up and Up brand has always been a favorite of mine and never smells. The natural ones like Seventh generation never do either.
