Placenta vs yolk sac?

I'm 7+5, supposedly the placenta has formed, but theres still a big yolk sac? Is the placenta not functional yet? How long does the baby feed off the yolk sac for, and when does it start getting nutrients just from me?

My yolk sac was still visible in my 12 week ultrasound when i was pregnant with my son even though the placenta was functioning by then.
